Lily Allen is one of those models that I love and hate at the same time – while she is one of the prettiest models I think in the world, she is one of those models that I think loves the spotlight too much.
She is now making her own jewelry and she is looking to truly get her face in the spotlight every single chance that she can get – take this Chanel photo shoot for instance. Now, this particular photo shoot was designed by Karl Lagerfeld and this is actually the new ad for the latest purses by Chanel.
Lily Allen looks to be portraying the late Holly Go-lightly and while I love Breakfast at Tiffany’s, I think that Lily Allen is not doing the greatest job here channeling her own Hepburn. The bags look fantastic though and that is the point right?

It seems that when you talk about fashion right now, it is all about colors and all about the breezy and flowing fabrics – however, come 2010, it is all about the hard-edges and leather fabrics in clothing styles. It is no great secret that the leather jacket is actually something that has become like a best friend in the wintertime; however, there are many different ways that leather seems to be peeking into the fashion world and down the runway for 2010.
Take these three looks you know – the leather pants is the first one and while I am not a fan of leather pants for the wintertime, I am certainly a fan of leather itself. The middle picture is a leather skirt, gloves, boots and jacket – and hat. To me, that is too much leather but to this designer, it’s not enough!
Finally, the last look is more futuristic in its look as the top is leather and the bottom is fabric. All together – it looks weird, but who am I to judge it? After all – I don’t even like leather unless it is shoes really!

In discussing fashion — or phashion, as it were — you can never go too long without discussing the latest trends, whether they involve clothing or cosmetics … or cosmetic techniques.
Now, my lovely little fashionistas, I want you to take a look at the picture to your right. No, my dears, that is in fact not Marilyn Manson. Nor is it an updated version of the Mona Lisa.
It is one of the many, many … many, many models joining the current trend involving eyebrows — or, rather, an unseemly, disturbing lack of eyebrows.
I confess, I obsess over eyebrows; I have since the very first time I got mine — wince — waxed. I obsess over their size, their shape, their thickness … and now I am obsessing over their very existence. Have I often fantasized about just shaving all my eyebrows off and drawing them in the way I want them? Would I ever do it? Not unless it involved a money bet with lots of zeros. No way, no how, kids — and so, I really do not like this new look. More than anything, I hope it stays on the runway and does not come catwalking off into daily life.

Today, we are not going to be talking about fashion as it applies to clothing; we are going to be talking about fashion — or, rather, a complete lack thereof — as it applies to cakes. Fashionable cakes are becoming quite the rage, for everything from weddings to birthdays to bridal and baby showers. Part of their growing popularity can be traced to the abundance of cake based reality shows on TV these days — Amazing Wedding Cakes, Ace of Cakes, the Cake Boss, and so on.
Well, recently on Amazing Wedding Cakes, the girls behind Cake Alchemy decided to put together what they called a chandelier wedding cake for an expo in New York City.
And it is the most hideous monstrosity I have ever seen.
In theory, yes, it is spectacular, what with all the intricately blown sugar designs and all of that. But a., may I be struck dead if I ever see a chandelier like that, and b., may I then be struck dead again. I love Cake Alchemy, so it pains me not to love this take. Just remember, pastry fashion is like any other fashion: do it because it looks good, not because someone tells you it’s stylish.

Now I am not all that fashionable in my everyday wear, however I know that double-denim is a huge no-no … right? I mean, that trend died down with the boyfriend jeans trend and I have to say that D&G is looking to revive it fully when they launched the latest menswear collection for 2010. However … is it really the best trend to try to keep alive? Personally, I think it looks terrible!
Although, I have to say that the models at the latest spring/summer 2010 show for D&G did not look half bad … I just hope that they do not bring this particular trend back to the women as well, because most denim on denim looks for women look absolutely horrid and I would hate to be wearing it all over again!
However – guys, if you want to wear your jeans with a denim jacket, apparently you can get away with it now!

If there is one hair trend that is constantly popping up in the fashion industry, it is going to be the classic 40’s and 50’s hairstyles. These particular hairstyles are definitely something that is so beautiful and so near and dear to my hair.
It does not matter which particular hairstyle that you choose from the forties and fifties, however, I love these two in particular. While I think the one on the left is a little bit older than the one on the right, you can see that on the runway, these hairstyles are becoming increasingly popular.
Do you know what else from the forties and fifties are becoming popular? Those little hair accessories that include feathers on them or even the veils that just go over the forehead; they are so popular right now in weddings, it truly is crazy!

I am a sucker for American Apparel that is all about the rocking chicks. To be honest, I think that Alexander Wang actually has taken himself to the next level with his newest collection named Evil Twin. The Evil Twin label is set to strike it huge in Australia and while it might not be in the states yet, it is absolutely going to make its way over here. The pieces of this particular label are oh-so-now and they are extremely affordable and accessible.
As far as what exactly the Evil Twin label is all about, you will see a lot of ripped up denim boyfriend shorts, along with a few cutaway dresses and a lot of oversized tee-dresses that are made to just be thrown on effortlessly and that you can really wear in any situation at all.
Personally, I think that this particular line is going to go hella far – everything looks fantastic and it should really appeal to the grunge look that everyone loves!

When it comes to advertising, we all know that Prada has it hands-down. To be honest, Prada to me is something that is so beautiful, so awesome and the fact that all of these models on their new campaign for Fall/Winter 2009/2010 collection. The thigh-high boots are it for me and I think that Prada definitely out did themselves with this ad.
The colors however are something to be desired. Personally, I do not think that brown needs to be the main color in any fashion anything, however … there is some red in there and that is a highlight for me. However, can we kind of have a chat about the hair?
Overall, this ad is a good one … I love the boots, the style and okay … a little bit of the hair, but honestly I think that the colors are something that they need to work on a little bit!

Shoes, shoes, shoes — it’s all about the shoes! As with your hair, there is just no way you can go out feeling like a true Phashionista without the perfect pair of shoes, so we are going to talk about what kinds of shoes are in this summer.
First of all, as we have seen here before, shoes with details are all the rage. You cannot go wrong with a little glam on your feet. Fringe, beads, flower detailing — anything like that is going to work for you.
Platforms are coming back as well, believe it or not. They are definitely bold and will call loads of positive attention both to your feet and to your overall ensemble.
Peep toe shoes are another must have this summer. They can keep you from feeling back about your toes if you have not managed a pedicure in a while.
Sling backs are always sexy, and never more so than they are this season. However, make sure you have the heels to carry them!

As we have stated many times here at Phashion, when you are concerned with fashion, you cannot just concern yourself with your clothing. Your hair often makes the outfit — and the right hair accessories can add some serious pizazz to your overall look.
The only problem here is figuring out what you need to do for summer. After all, you do not want your head to be all encumbered by larger than life accessories and an uncomfortable pile of hair. You have to be comfortable and you have to look hot without being hot.
Headbands are a phenomenal way for you to do that. They are not heavy so they will not be cumbersome and hot, and there is no denying the fact that they are absolutely fashionable and super trendy — plus you definitely do not have to spend an arm and a leg to buy a headband.
