D&G Men’s S/S 2010: Double Denim? Really?

Now I am not all that fashionable in my everyday wear, however I know that double-denim is a huge no-no … right? I mean, that trend died down with the boyfriend jeans trend and I have to say that D&G is looking to revive it fully when they launched the latest menswear collection for 2010. However … is it really the best trend to try to keep alive? Personally, I think it looks terrible!

Although, I have to say that the models at the latest spring/summer 2010 show for D&G did not look half bad … I just hope that they do not bring this particular trend back to the women as well, because most denim on denim looks for women look absolutely horrid and I would hate to be wearing it all over again!

However – guys, if you want to wear your jeans with a denim jacket, apparently you can get away with it now!

Evil Twin: It’s One Rockin’ Collection!

I am a sucker for American Apparel that is all about the rocking chicks. To be honest, I think that Alexander Wang actually has taken himself to the next level with his newest collection named Evil Twin. The Evil Twin label is set to strike it huge in Australia and while it might not be in the states yet, it is absolutely going to make its way over here. The pieces of this particular label are oh-so-now and they are extremely affordable and accessible.

As far as what exactly the Evil Twin label is all about, you will see a lot of ripped up denim boyfriend shorts, along with a few cutaway dresses and a lot of oversized tee-dresses that are made to just be thrown on effortlessly and that you can really wear in any situation at all.

Personally, I think that this particular line is going to go hella far – everything looks fantastic and it should really appeal to the grunge look that everyone loves!

Prada Autumn (Fall)/Winter 2009/2010 Advertising

When it comes to advertising, we all know that Prada has it hands-down. To be honest, Prada to me is something that is so beautiful, so awesome and the fact that all of these models on their new campaign for Fall/Winter 2009/2010 collection. The thigh-high boots are it for me and I think that Prada definitely out did themselves with this ad.

The colors however are something to be desired. Personally, I do not think that brown needs to be the main color in any fashion anything, however … there is some red in there and that is a highlight for me. However, can we kind of have a chat about the hair?

Overall, this ad is a good one … I love the boots, the style and okay … a little bit of the hair, but honestly I think that the colors are something that they need to work on a little bit!

Christian Lacroix Will Fight For His Fashion House!

In this economy, fashion designers and fashion in general is definitely struggling, but one designer that is definitely fighting for his couture house is Christian Lacroix. This particular designer has pledged to fight to the hilt in order to maintain his fashion house and while there are a lot of things to consider, Christian Lacroix is definitely one hell of a fighter and a designer.

In Christian Lacroix’s couture house, there are over 100 employees, all who are in fear for their jobs but Christian is definitely one that plans to keep the fight going until there is absolutely no reason to anymore. While there has been a sharp turn down for the luxury items, Christian is thinking about changing up the way that he designs.

There is a restructuring plan in action right now and do not worry – Christian will always be designing and there is absolutely no reason why you should think that his house will be closing for good!

Jason Wu Resort 2010: His Collection Rocks!

It has to be said that Jason Wu is definitely the latest and greatest up and comer and his newest collection is absolutely breathtaking! Jason showed his new collection in NY just yesterday and I have to say that the fashion show rocked and there were a ton of different pieces that were absolutely incredible! The folds of the fabric were great, the sexy necklines were apparent and there are a heck of a lot of drapes and pleats to talk about.

Jason Wu really understands a woman’s need to be able to go from day to evening with just a few twists and turns of the fabric. It is all about comfort and finding exactly what the all America girl wants in his collection and if you see it – you know.

There were a ton of different colors that were there everything from rainbow pleats all the way to electric blues and greens and they were all totally worth the wait!

Oh My Goth, Not Again!

Rodarte. Givenchy. Yves Saint Laurent. Tao. Chanel. John Galliano. What do these designers have in common? That their labels are truly designer, the essence of couture. That they are innovative, unique, and unfailingly edge. That they never fail to think outside the box of haute couture fashion.

All of those things are true. It is also true that they are each incorporating a dark, decadent gothic trend into their collections for this season.

Some of them — such as Rodarte, seen here — are going for a more industrial feel, hence the leather, the chains. This is Deconstructed Goth, full of fishnet and ripped clothing. Givenchy’s look is a bit like that, but not to the extreme seen in Rodarte. The others, most notably Galliano, Chanel, and Tao — are going for a much more romantic feel. It is a decadent, antiquated goth, a bit Victorian in nature.

I never would have thought it possible, that I’d enjoy seeing this trend again, but done up the couture way, it is quite literally breathtaking.

Agent Provocateur: This Lingerie Designer Branches Out!

Okay, so I have to admit that I have done quite a few posts on other blogs about Agent Provocateur and he is by far my favorite lingerie designer in the world! So I had to throw something of his up here for all of you to see! These stockings to me are incredible. They definitely look sexy and they are totally freakin’ awesome! To me — Agent Provocateur out did himself when he came out with these, but that it just me.

One of the latest trends that I’ve noticed latest is wearing your lingerie as outer clothing instead of under your clothes and these stockings are a perfect example of why you should absolutely wear your lingerie over your clothes! They look incredible, are fun, flirty and all around beautiful!

So keep up the trend and definitely make sure that you look at some of Agent Provocateur’s latest and greatest collections of lingerie!

Ethnic Trend: Are You Down With It?

So really, I had no idea exactly what an ethnic trend would be considered but it look likes it has. These are the latest and ‘greatest’ fashions for this spring and honestly … really, I do not think that I agree with them at all. There are a ton of different themes that I have absolutely fallen head over heels for and this is just not one of them. Christopher Kane is the designer to blame for half of these, but that’s okay! I don’t really plan on blaming him.

I guess I would be okay with half of the trend of they all just did not look freakin’ stupid! I mean the gold and blue ‘dresses’ look like sacks and the leopard print thing paired with that ‘skirt’ is absolutely terrible! So to be honest, I do not think that this is the greatest trend in the world.

However, there are some things nice to say about it and I think that the fact that there are some bold colors in there says a lot!

Alexander Amosu: Check This Suit Out!

Alexander Amosu is a designer that I had never really heard of until I saw that he designed the most incredible and expensive suit in the world! This suit is by far one of the best on the market too, but with the price tag of over one hundred thousand dollars, I do not think that I will be purchasing this suit anytime soon.

Now, you are probably wondering exactly what makes this suit so expensive and why anyone … in the world would purchase something this expensive. Well, what makes this suit different from all of the others is the fact that beautiful and took over 80 hours to make … by hand. This suit was entirely crafted by hand and it is made from Vicuna, which is a very rare and wild South American animal which is related to a camel.

This incredible animal only produces enough wool for shearing about every three months and it is by far the most expensive wool in the world. This suit also features over five thousand stitches and there are also diamonds incorporated into the buttons. Now do you want it?

Fashion For The Rain!

To be completely honest, not a lot of designers really think about the rain whenever they are dealing with fashion. It is just not something that they consider a high priority but really, it is! Especially this month! Rain is something that we all have to deal with and honestly, I think that more fashion designers should be cautious about the rain.

Take this incredible picture for example, this model has absolutely no problems with the rain and really – that is the way that it should be. I also saw a whole lot of fashionable items that were designed around and for rainy weather. Heart-shaped umbrellas, rain coats, rain boots …

Seriously, I love … love rain coats and I think that they are one of the sexiest things in the world! So do not fret about the rain ladies and gentlemen! Designers are thinking outside of the box.
