A lot of us have likely heard about this new trend, called Bohemian Luxe. If you’re like me, it’s the “luxe” part that probably throws you. I mean, I know what bohemian fashion is — in fact, I love anything bohemian, period. When done correctly, it puts you in mind of the Village in New York City; Knotting Hill and other such trendy areas in London; the cafes running alongside the Seine in Paris. So what exactly is up with the whole Bohemian Luxe trend, then?
In short, Bohemian Luxe is all about layers. Now, this might make some of you think of the 80s yet again. We layered our slouch socks so far up our calves that we always looked like we were wearing leg warmers. We layered vests over our tee shirts and tight fitting denim jackets over our vests. Fortunately, you won’t have to pull out the jean jackets again. When you layer with a Bohemian Luxe flair, it’s all about flowing, casual, and loose clothing. Check out Elle Macpherson up there: two scarves, a coat, a flowing shirt under that, and long flowing trousers. Not only will this trend keep you warm in the cold winter weather, it will also make you look like you just stepped off the catwalk to get a good old fashioned coffee at a cafe that is not Starbucks.
